Film Producer
I started producing films in 2005, using the singer in the band, the village I lived in, my 2 daughters and an analogue camera. The budget was £50 but the result? ‘5 minute Rock Star’ won an award at the Bournemouth Film Club.
I made me realise how much I enjoyed the process. The end to end journey of writing a script, casting the team and find locations was exciting and great fun. The end result is as good as coming out of the recoding studio with a great song in the can. I was addicted.
I went on to make 9 short films, all of which received some form of award or recognition. The films are as follows:
- 15 – Short 15 minute film about 15 people.
- The Meal ticket – Son comes home with a terrible confession for his mother
- Out of the Blue – A hacker ruins two lives.
- Thing 1 – My daughters visit to a graveyard
- Red 7 – Strange things happen behind a Red Door.
- Gone Egg – A 60 second animation
- The Scaldwell Magpie – A young child turns the tables on abuse
- The 5 minute rockstar – A great singers last day – RIP Geoff.
- I let her down – My ex-wif
